The renovation and expansion of the Cliff May residence embodied a commitment to preserving the integrity of mid-century architecture in Los Angeles. The project seamlessly blended the past with the present by remodeling and expanding the house while meticulously preserving the original wooden structure a tribute to the iconic design principles of Cliff May.

In line with the client’s vision, the studio expanded the residence and also updated it to meet contemporary building codes. Every decision and detail was informed by a meticulous study of May’s analog projects, ensuring that the renovation closely echo his original work. The result is not just a larger, refurbished house but a thoughtful continuation of the mid-century architectural legacy, where the past is not forgotten but revitalized for the present.
